Enlgland desperate to take No.1 spot in Test rankings

Indian batsman once again failed to perform in the seaming and swinging condition of England in the third test at Edgbaston, Birmingham.Sehwag playing for the first time on this tour got out on the first ball , Gambhir and Dravid provide some stability to the Indian inning but Bresnan and Broad had some different ideas for the Indian batsman.England bowlers utilised the condition very well and Broad and Bresnan both took 4wkts each and helped England in wrapping up Indian innings under 225.MS Dhoni played an excellent knock of 77runs and involved in good partnership with Praveen Kumar. At one stage India were 111/7 but Dhoni and Kumar took India to a respectable total of  224runs.
England started well, both Cook and Strauss looked in good touch.Strauss completed his half century and at stumps day1 England were 84/0.
